Many people write for very purposeful reasons. Not to say that my reasons aren't purposeful, too.
What I mean to say is many write for reasons like the desire to write the all-American novel (now what would that be?),
to better the lives around them, to make one happy, sad, to invoke some sort of feeling in another.
I will be so bold to say that I write for less altruistic reasons.
I am writing for very selfish reasons. Number one, I enjoy writing and number two, I want to make money.
Ah ha! I said it! That's right! I do not want to work in the normal working world. I want to write
as I please, leasurely, or crazed with emotion, whichever comes up. I want to live my own different, odd, public/private
life!
